BACK FROM THAILAND! Hallelujah!
Day 1 - Departed from Singapore Changi airport at 7.45 pm. Landed in BKK at 11 pm
Day 2 - Campus Ministry at 1 of Bkk's uni. we performed skits, made balloons. but to our dismay, no one paid any attention to us. so we decided to change strategy and do personal evangelism. Armed with a balloon sculpture and a tract in hand, we went to students sitting in the canteen and shared our personal testimonies with them. Did not see any salvation that day, but we learnt to do 1-to-1 evangelism. A refreshing start!
Day 3 - Landed in Udon Thani. Went to Nong Khai by coach. Attended their youth cellgroup in the evening - Ps. Mark preached about receiving the Holy Spirit, very very impactful sermon. The people were really hungry for God... saw some salvations.
Day 4 - followed sister ellie to 2 primary schools for children evangelism. the kids were cute, very responsive. i had to lead some action songs... i would never ever have thought i'd b leading children in songs... *yikes* but it was fun, doing something i had never done. I prefer the village children tho, they were cuter and more innocent...
Day 5 - Village evangelism - at Nong Khai. We did skits, balloon sculptures... the most exciting part was praying for people. a man who wanted to be healed of weak knees was prayed for. He received healing and could run around. God is amazing. a woman was healed of her blur vision. we saw an old man who was blind - he wanted to be healed, but was not healed immediately, still he received Jesus and kept praying "thank you Jesus, I want to see with my eyes again" His faith was so simple yet so moving... Lotsa salvations today!
Day 6 - more village evangelism at Udon Thani. Puy's village. We had local food for lunch, sticky rice, omelette... food was good, and wonderful countryside scenery... we saw a beautiful sunset on the rice paddy fields (which were dry becos they had jus been harvested) - no pic cos we were on the shaky van... too bad! O yea a lot of salvations today! esp children. Praise God!
Day 7 - Nothing much today. Attended a church service at the local church. their sound system was simple but man, their praise was zealous and loud... their backup singers swing side to side together and were really full of worshipful exprssions. must learn from them. Dinner was sumptuous @ Mekong river cruise - We caught yet another beautiful sunset on the Mekong river
Day 8 - In the morning we went to the prison for ministry. a lot of souls were saved. heard a very touching testimony from jeremy about how Jesus literally saved him from a life of drugs and bondage. had The rally in the evening. Didn't imagine such a good sound system with big speaker columns in a simple place like Nong Khai. Open air concert, better than ge tais we have in singapore - more like concerts at fort canning. many many salvations!
it was a touching scen. Ps mark was preaching, and he asked people who were sitting on chairs to move their chairs to in front of the stage... and whomp... the crowd just rushed forward with their chairs, must've been more than 100. and the crowds on the motorbikes were asked to turn on their headlights if they wanted to receive jesus... and WHOOSH! the whole place was flooded with light...
Day 9 - going back to BKK to meet the rest. did some shopping. and got ready to go back to sgp for the next day...
day 10 - touch down in singapore.
Special thanks to everyone we had met in thailand, all our translators and hosts who have shown us tremendous warmth and hospitality.
